How to Sign “Jealous” in Sign Language

Jealousy is a powerful emotion that can make even the most rational person act irrationally, but did you know that it can also be traced back to our primal instinct to protect our resources and loved ones?

Signing “Jealous”

  1. Hand shape: Start with your dominant hand in a “bent-1” handshape, with your index finger extended and slightly bent.
  2. Hand location: Bring your hands do the dominant side of your lips.
  3. Movement: Touch the side of your lips with your dominant index finger, then quickly retract your finger away from your body while further bending your finger.
  4. Facial expression: Furrow your eyebrows and squint your eyes, as if feeling uneasiness toward someone.
